If you head back to the 1950s, you will learn that Ritchie Valens was an incredibly popular musician hailing from America who operated in the rock and roll genre. He made history despite being young but unfortunately died aged 17 in an aeroplane crash.

Hans La Bamba song is what he’s known for, and it’s this and other musical related imagery that make up the design and theme of this game. Another visually impressive title from RTG pushes the theme brilliantly, doing the late Valens proud in the process.

Sporet har Ritchie Valens in the title. And, the game takes inspiration from him. So, he’s going to play a part in the features as you will expect. In Ritchie Valens: La Bamba, the rock icon picks up the role of not only a wild but one that expands, taking up three spaces on the reels.

It will enable forming winning combos to happen more regularly as the wild acts as a substitute, the wins involving an expanding wild double, and if three appear on each reel, the ways to win will triple!

RTG couple the expanding wild offering with scatters. They come in the shape of La Bamba icons, and punters will need to see four as a minimum in view simultaneously anywhere on the reels to pick up twenty free spins. Multipliers of up to 3x will apply, too.

If a player grabs more scatters, expanding wilds will be present on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, and possibly all six. The re-spins are re-triggerable as well.
